Schedule a BSP SCHOOLYARD Unit

Our BSP schoolyard unit is a set of three visits to your classes. Each visit is a unique, inquiry-based journey for your class. BSP instructors will guide your students outside and explore the world of birds by learning to identify common bird species, listen to and interpret bird sounds, and record what they observe through various nature journaling activities. During our visits we will equip each student with optics and field guides to be able to participate in bird watching. Bird School can also incorporate museum specimen (not live specimen) from the Ken Norris Center for Natural History to help students get up-close looks of real bird taxidermies that are common to their neighborhood.

You can request program dates below, choosing a full day or half day schoolyard visit depending on what makes sense with your schedule. Keep in mind that our programs do involve a fee and there may be school logistics to navigate as well, so if you don’t hear back from us when you schedule reach out! If you have never worked with Bird School Project before, we also recommend reaching out to info@birdschoolproject.org.
